The 126th  Bolton Fair September 25-28, 2008

Animal Exhibits

The animals and the agricultural exhibits are the stars of the Bolton Fair. There are shows and competitions for a wide range of animals as well as related displays and demonstrations. Exhibitors, many of them 4-H members, proudly show their animals to best advantage in the cattle, goat, pigeon, poultry and water fowl, and sheep shows.

Begun in 1874 as "The Cattle Show," the Fair has expanded greatly in scope, but the animal shows and agricultural exhibits still form the focus of the Bolton Fair, with shows and competitions for sheep, rabbits, pigeons, poultry and water fowl, dairy and Nigerian dwarf goats, swine, cattle and horses. Other popular events include sheep shearing, blacksmithing, wool spinning, pony rides, pulling contests, and a display of unusual animal breeds. A perennial favorite is the draft horse and hitch exhibit.

All Exhibit Hall Premiums, Animal Premiums and Prize Monies are funded by the Bolton Fair.
